  1. Great episode, thanks for introducing me to this film, what an oddity, but what great performances too. I was surprised to not hear any talk of child molestation in your discussion. Having just watched the film I felt that Cissy displayed such a massive Daddy complex, complete with shrine, that she was projecting her relationships with men onto the mafu. The incest was accepted by both Cissy and Lee and they were a bit too touchy feely with Zom. Perhaps I was watching the film in the knowledge that some of the anthropologists who conducted famous studies on tribes have been proving to be peadophiles. That last image we are left in the mural is a man with beard and hat leering at at a naked girl, who looks an awful lot like Cissy. Also, did James Olson don a beard for the photograph of Daddy, looked a lot like him?
    Really interesting podcast as usual!
