This episode offers a great peak into the topsy turvy development of the project with director Nicholas Meyer.

Mike White's nerdy Trekkie prattlings with blogger Chris Cummins prove too much for co-host Rob St. Mary. At times, he seems genuinely concerned for his safety, if not his sanity.
Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07158870252710956353noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6265014241875110812.post-75589748957337593632014-04-14T22:36:05.989-04:002014-04-14T22:36:05.989-04:00I strongly doubt anyting like that ever happened,

How about a 17yr old nobody's heard of with no representation and absolutely no published works.

Sorry, Anonymous, I'm pretty sure that story is full of shit.Alex Jowskihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11737798466816750685noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6265014241875110812.post-61609369331059139092014-04-14T16:30:08.777-04:002014-04-14T16:30:08.777-04:00I can't believe you didn't talk about how ...I can't believe you didn't talk about how William Pattison wrote Star Trek II.

>>I was 17.I have an issue with my age. I knew a lady named Sonny Cooper who was on William Shatner's staff. She was also friends with Harve Bennett who was selected as the producer of Star Trek II. The thing was that Harve was having trouble coming up with an idea for the story for Star Trek II since he hadn't been a fan of the original series. Anyway, A month after he was assigned the position I actually went to a big get together for WISH: The William Shatner Fan Fellowship in LA. Harve was a guest for the event and Sonny introduced us. She thought having him talk to me because I knew all the original episodes by heart would help him out. It turned out Harve ended up asking me to stay for three weeks after. During that time he and I actually watched all 79 episodes of the original series. We went through four story ideas until finally we came up with Star Trek II: The Vengeance of Khan, it was later changed to The Wrath of Khan.Anyone who knows me knows my two favorite pieces of classic literature is Tales of Two Cities and Moby Dick. Why I mention that is because Nick Meyer, the director keeps trying to take credit for adding references to those in the script. Then later I was in LA again for a WISH get together and Harve called me in again to help write scenes for Star Trek III.<<Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6265014241875110812.post-33822666246039733132014-04-14T16:26:06.481-04:002014-04-14T16:26:06.481-04:00YES!
